eDigitalResearch join global intelligence and professional services firm MARU Group

MARU Group – a technology enabled professional services firm delivering information and insight services – has acquired Voice of the Customer leaders eDigitalResearch (edr) as they build a company that combines technology with deep thinking and a focus on actionable outputs for organisations.

As leaders in the Voice of the Customer field, eDigitalResearch (edr) have a strong reputation for innovation and excellent account management. Founded by Michelle Fuller and Chris Russell back in 1999, eDigitalResearch (edr) has grown to over 146 insight professionals and developers working with a range of blue-chip organisations across markets and sectors. The acquisition of eDigitalResearch (edr) by MARU Group is a key step in the firm’s vision to become an international insights pioneer.

The acquisition will bring a change in leadership as both Chris and Michelle step down from their roles as Joint Executive Chair. Instead, MARU Group will be led by Ged Parton, who most recently held Global CEO roles at Synovate and Ipsos, and is joined by eDigitalResearch’s (edr) Chief Technical Officer Shane Wright who will take on the position of MARU Group’s CTO. Both Ged and Shane will continue to work closely with eDigitalResearch’s (edr) current board of directors, including Managing Director Steve Brockway.

Shane has been the driving force behind many of eDigitalResearch’s (edr) innovations over the years, including the design and development of eDigitalResearch’s (edr) core platform. The technology will now become an integral part of MARU Group’s future developments as the firm looks to deliver on its promise of technology focused insight and intelligence.

Shane Wright, Chief Technical Officer at MARU Group, explains, “As part of MARU Group, the team at eDigitalResearch (edr) will become a vital part of our future vision to provide research, insight and advisory services that are driven by robust yet pioneering technology”.

Steve Brockway, Managing Director at eDigitalResearch (edr), comments, “This is another exciting chapter in our history. Since Chris and Michelle founded the company over fifteen years ago, we’ve strived as a company to stay at the forefront of research innovation and technology. Joining MARU Group gives us the opportunity to work with new technology and be a part of a new feedback venture that delivers fast and strategic insight whilst maintaining the essence of eDigitalResearch in our people”.

The acquisition by MARU Group will bring significant investment to eDigitalResearch (edr) as the group looks to develop a global technology-enabled insight and information service. All 146 current eDigitalResearch (edr) employees will remain in their roles within the new independent company and will continue to work out of eDigitalResearch’s (edr) office base in Southampton. With the acquisition by MARU Group however, eDigitalResearch (edr) will merge to form and operate under maru/edr.
